The lifecycle

Seven Deal Stages, and Which Service Owns Each

Most firms sell one stage and hand off at the seam. Here is the whole arc, and where each of our services sits.

The seams between stages are where deals lose value. Our end-to-end capability exists to remove them, by putting all seven stages under one team and one governance cadence.
The services

Four M&A Services, One Accountable Team

Three M&A service lines and one combined capability. Each page below carries the detail, the process and the commercial terms.

Service 01

M&A Corporate Development

A sourcing and execution engine you do not have to hire. We build the thesis, map the market and run the process.

Service 02

M&A Due Diligence

Commercial and operational diligence that tests the thesis. Findings convert into integration priorities before close.

Service 03

Post-Merger Integration

The phase where the deal either shows up in the numbers or does not. We plan before close and execute after.

All three combined

End-to-End M&A Capability

One team from thesis to value capture, under one commercial relationship. The team that runs diligence runs the integration.

Where to start

Which M&A Service Fits Your Situation

Four common situations, and the service that fits each one.

“Our pipeline is too thin.”

Coverage goes cold because sourcing loses to whatever is urgent. Start with corporate development.

“We have a target under LOI.”

You need the thesis tested inside the exclusivity window. Start with due diligence.

“We closed and nothing is moving.”

The synergies are priced but not owned. Start with post-merger integration.

“We are buying every year.”

A repeatable platform needs one team across all seven stages. Start with the full capability.

Emerging manager? The Charter Program gives smaller funds the capabilities of a larger firm without the cost structure. Its no-retainer term covers origination only, and diligence and integration are scoped separately.
How we staff

An Operating Expert Network, Not a Bench of Generalists

The same capability sits behind all four services. Experts are deployed to the workstreams each deal actually requires.

How Our M&A Services Are Priced

Each service is priced the way that work creates value. These are the headline models, not a rate card.

Service 01

Corporate development

The retainer funds ongoing origination and evaluation capacity. The success fee ties a share of our compensation to closed deals.

Retainer plus success fee

Service 02

Due diligence

Priced to the workstreams in scope and agreed before fieldwork starts. You know the cost going into the exclusivity window.

Fixed fee, set by scope

Service 03

Post-merger integration

Billed to actual workstream effort, so cost flexes with how demanding the integration turns out to be.

Time and materials

All three

End-to-end capability

All three models under one relationship. A portion of the success fee can be reinvested into the platform’s integration capability.

A combination of all three

Discrete deliverables are often scoped as a fixed fee, a platform assessment or an integration plan among them. We agree the model alongside the scope. Either the fund or the portfolio company can be the contracting party, and it varies deal by deal. Success fee reinvestment is discretionary for both sides, not automatic. Nothing here is legal, tax or investment advice.

FAQs

Questions About Our M&A Services

No. Each service stands alone and many platforms start with one. The end-to-end capability exists for platforms buying repeatedly, where the handoffs between stages cost more than the services do.

No. Xpertegic Partners is not a registered broker-dealer or placement agent. We work on the buy side as an operating partner to the platform and its sponsor.

Yes, and usually we do. Your bankers, accountants, attorneys and tax advisors keep their scopes. We run the commercial and operational workstreams and keep everyone on one calendar.

Either one. On some engagements the sponsor contracts and pays, and on others the platform does. We agree that alongside scope at the start.

Middle market, across six sectors we know well. The best fit is a PE-backed platform pursuing add-on acquisitions. The deal team is usually stretched, and integration matters to the return.
