Veteran COO and CFO brings more than 20 years of finance, operations, carve-out, and M&A integration experience to Xpertegic’s Operating Expert Network.

Jacksonville, FL — Sept 4, 2026 — Xpertegic Partners, an M&A corporate development and integration firm serving private equity firms and PE-backed companies, today announced that Gregg Mischner has joined the firm’s Operating Expert Network. Gregg will support clients across CFO due diligence and CFO post-merger integration, helping private equity sponsors and portfolio companies evaluate financial risks before closing and build stronger finance organizations after an acquisition.

Gregg brings more than 20 years of experience across private equity-backed, public, and founder-led companies ranging from $40 million to $3.4 billion in revenue. His career spans finance, FP&A, treasury, operations, carve-outs, M&A integration, ERP transformation, distribution, and value creation across the consumer, distribution, apparel, industrial, eCommerce, and beverage sectors.

“Gregg brings the type of experience we want around the table during both diligence and integration,” said Dieunor Michel, Founder and Managing Partner of Xpertegic. “He understands how to evaluate a business through a CFO lens before a transaction closes, but more importantly, he has been the operator responsible for turning the investment thesis into results after closing. That combination gives our clients a much deeper connection between diligence, integration planning, and value creation.”

From the Investment Thesis to the Operating Results

Gregg’s experience includes serving as COO and CFO of a $250 million global apparel and distribution company carved out of a $3.4 billion public parent. He built the investment thesis and financial model and presented the opportunity to 13 private equity firms, ultimately helping raise $55 million to support the transaction.

Following the carve-out, Gregg helped build the standalone finance and operating infrastructure, including treasury, multi-currency banking, payroll and benefits, organizational design, and financial reporting. During the first 18 months, the company expanded EBITDA margins from 5% to 14%. He also executed and integrated two add-on acquisitions, including a $25 million distressed competitor acquired during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gregg later served as Vice President of Operations and Distribution for a $700 million-plus private equity-backed consumer platform. There, he led distribution, logistics, and post-merger integration across seven U.S. facilities and international third-party logistics operations while overseeing an $80 million operating budget and more than 500 employees. He integrated three acquired companies into the platform and delivered $22 million in savings through contract renegotiation, network consolidation, workforce restructuring, and operational improvements.

Across those roles, Gregg has integrated five acquisitions across two platforms, including finance-function integration, ERP and WMS consolidation, workforce restructuring, and distribution network integration across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe.

Strengthening CFO Due Diligence

Within Xpertegic, Gregg will help private equity firms and portfolio companies evaluate targets from the perspective of the CFO who will ultimately have to operate the business after closing.

His CFO due diligence work will help clients examine areas such as financial reporting, EBITDA quality and adjustments, working capital, cash flow, FP&A capabilities, finance systems, treasury, organizational structure, KPI reporting, integration requirements, and potential value-creation opportunities.

Through his fractional COO/CFO practice, Gregg currently works with PE-backed and founder-led companies during post-acquisition, pre-exit, and rapid-growth periods. His recent work includes restructuring financial statements to create a defensible EBITDA bridge for investor diligence and building standardized FP&A, forecasting, KPI, and business intelligence infrastructure for private equity portfolio companies.

Connecting Due Diligence to Post-Merger Integration

Gregg will also support Xpertegic’s CFO post-merger integration work, helping clients turn diligence findings into an executable integration plan.

His experience includes standing up finance and treasury functions following a corporate divestiture, integrating U.S. and U.K. finance operations, implementing enterprise financial systems, standardizing reporting, building FP&A infrastructure, and establishing the financial operating cadence required by private equity sponsors and management teams.

“Most integration plans fail in the same place: the operating detail underneath the synergy number,” said Mischner. “My work has always been to go find that detail early, while there is still time to do something about it.”

His addition strengthens Xpertegic’s ability to connect pre-close due diligence with post-close execution, particularly within the CFO function. Instead of treating diligence and integration as separate exercises, Xpertegic’s model brings operating expertise into the transaction process so risks, dependencies, synergies, and integration priorities identified before closing can inform the post-close roadmap.

Expanding Xpertegic’s Operating Expert Network

Xpertegic’s Operating Expert Network brings experienced functional leaders into M&A engagements to support private equity sponsors and portfolio companies across critical areas of due diligence and post-merger integration.

Gregg adds extensive capabilities across finance, FP&A, treasury, ERP and financial systems, PMO, procurement, distribution, supply chain, and operational transformation. He currently serves as Principal Consultant at FMX Partners, where he operates as a fractional COO and CFO for private equity-backed and founder-led businesses. He holds an MBA in Finance.

His addition further expands Xpertegic’s ability to help clients answer two critical questions throughout the M&A lifecycle: What are we buying? And what must we do after closing to realize the value we underwrote?
